The Franklin-Southampton Area United Way celebrated Independence Day at the City of Franklin's 4th of July Celebration on Wednesday, July 3. United Way volunteers applied over 400 temporary patriotic tattoos during the evening and handed out red, white, and blue frisbees. Young visitors also received free literacy & diversity kits donated by Safco Products. The kits included books, activities, puzzles and crafts. The city event ended with fireworks over the Blackwater River.
