We couldn't make a difference in Franklin and Southampton County without community support. In addition to making donations, there are several opportunities to support our fundraising efforts throughout the year. You can support one of our own local fundraising events or host your own through your business, school, or civic organization.

City of Franklin Trick or Trot 5K & Pumpkin Dash
Join us for the City of Franklin Trick or Trot 5K & Pumpkin Dash in historic Downtown Franklin, Virginia. Race from downtown, around the city cemetery and through residential areas. Join the fun by entering the costume contest. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Franklin and Southampton County communities.
United Way Gingerbread House Challenge
Team up with your friends, family, or coworkers to display your holiday spirit and creativity by constructing a gingerbread house! Entries will compete online and at a reception to see which team will be crowned the Gingerbread Champions. Every $1 donation from our community counts as one vote towards each entry! Look for more information in October for this annual event!
Succulent Plant Sale
Support our United Way mission by purchasing a succulent container garden at a local community event. You can also invite us sell the pre-made containers at an event or host a "Succulent Garden Bar" themed progam at your event, business or organizational meeting. We provide all the supplies and charge a per-participant fee.
Go Casual for United Way
Go casual for United Way! Initiate a "Casual Day" at work, school, or an event to raise funds for our community. Encourage attendees to donate to the United Way in exchange for the option to dress down. We will provide the stickers for you to distribute to anyone that participates! Email us if interested in setting up an event.
Spare Change Collection
This is a great idea for students or other youth groups. Collect spare change in the classroom, at Scout events, or during a youth group meeting. Boxes or containers can also be set home for collections from family, friends, and neighbors. This can also be done at a business - have a jar for spare change near the register and collect change for a good cause!
Host A Fundraiser Event
A great team and community building event! Host a fundraiser to support the United Way - be creative! Some great ideas include food sales, raffles, auctions, craft shows, car wash, or a music festival. Reach out to our staff or board to plan a collaborative event that benefits the community!
