When you volunteer through United Way, you’re joining 1.5 million people who are giving back so others can get ahead. Whether it's leading a book or food drive, mentoring a student, volunteering at a Day of Action event, or helping to raise funds for a community project, each of us can take actions to help our community be a stronger, more resilient place where everyone can thrive.
Available Volunteer Opportunities
The Franklin-Southampton Area United Way uses the Point Volunteer Platform to manage volunteer sign-ups for all of our events. Register in the Point App to search for volunteer opportunities, to receive notifications of new events, and to keep track of your volunteer hours.

HOLD A FUNDRAISER
Help support vital programs in the community by raising funds through fundraising events like food sales, car washes, go casual days, item sales, and more. Contact us with your ideas and we will help with planning.
HOST A BOOK DRIVE
Collect books for infants, children, teens and adults to donate to our Little Free Library sites. We take new or used books to fill the three Little Free Library boxes that we maintain in our community.
HELP A PARTNER AGENCY
Let us coordinate volunteer opportunities with one or more of our non-profit partner agencies. Projects are available on-site or can be done from work or home to benefit the agency.
ASSEMBLE DONATION KITS
Looking for a unique and fun way to give back? Your family, business or organization can asssemble kits to donate locally - hygiene items, school supplies, toiletries, blessing bags, and holiday bags are always in need.
TEAM BUILDING EVENTS
Collaborate with our United Way to plan a corporate work project. We will work together to pick a project and implement plans for a team-building event to help our community.
COLLECT FOOD DONATIONS
There are many ways to collect food donations for our community - ask your friends and neighbors for donations, set up a table at a local grocery store, or put out a collection box at work, school or church.
