Black Achievers Speak to UW Board
Brittany Joyner and Shamar Ballard

Brittany Joyner and Shamar Ballard told the Franklin-Southampton Board of Directors about the exciting opportunites they have as members of the Black Achievers program at the YMCA in Frankin.  Brittany told us about the career clusters that students can join - everything from Engineering to How to Become a Millionaire!  Shamar talked about visiting colleges to find a good match for his education dreams.

Brittany is a rising Senior at Southampton High School.  Shamar is a rising Sophmore at Franklin High School.

The Black Achievers program achieves great success with matching mentors to young adults.  Through monthly cluster meetings, the youth are helped to idetify and pursue their dreams of higher education and career job skills.
