Financial Accountability

Each United Way is independently governed by a local volunteer board, in order to best meet our local needs and opportunities. We must, however, adhere to a stringent set of membership standards that focus on governance, ethics, financial management, and general operations.

Franklin-Southampton Area United Way (FSAUW) has an annual audit conducted by Barnes, Brock, Cornwell & Painter, PLC. They also prepare the 990 income tax forms.

FSAUW requires each agency we fund to provide annual financial statements for our review. These include the 990 tax form, audit or review, and budget.

We will govern ourselves with accountability and transparency. We strive to be cost-efficient and 100% of donations are allocated directly to local agency grants and community improvement projects. All administrative costs are paid for by grant funding.
